Over the 1st week of April my Uncle became ill, he had classic flu like symptoms. A week prior to that he was laid off from his job. After about a week and a half he started getting worse to the point where he couldn’t breath. He was then brought to the hospital and he was diagnosed Covid-19. About a day after diagnosis my mother was told that they have to put him on a ventilator or he will probably die. Days and weeks went by without any improvement. He was given antibiotics, Hydroxychloroquine, chemo, and countless other medications with zero improvement. During this whole process his funds have been depleted while he has been in the hospital due to medical bills etc. My mom (his sister) has tried all she can to take care of these issues but unfortunately since she was not awarded power of attorney she could not handle any of his affairs. Finally, upon retaining an attorney and as of June 15, 2020 she will be given guardianship of my uncle and allowing her to take care of ALL of his affairs. With that said, due to the state cutting his pension his finances are limited and it will be difficult to cover the bills coming in due to his current care so that is why I am creating this go fund me page! On a positive note, he is still on the ventilator for a total of 52 days as of May 28th and has improved dramatically but will be under going physical therapy to hopefully get him back to himself over the next few months. Truthfully my mother doesn’t like to put her family business on blast but I feel any help that could possibly be sent his way would be a positive for him so that he can concentrate on getting better.
